Howard Bloom pointed out that there historically must be "J"-curve in the economy, where a drastic downward slope followed up by a slight upward slope to create revolution.

His attempt to explain this was that when you're in a downward slope, you're busy trying to fix the slope by conventional means, as that's all that you know how to do. However, when the leeway of a small upward curve comes around, you suddenly have the ability to fix the system in desperate ways.

Many want to downplay the role of the Internet in these uprising but for anyone who followed the 2009 Iranian elections & the aftermath know the Internet played a major role in organization & alerting the rest of the world to what was actually going on in the country! The same applies to Tunisia, Egypt, Bahrain, etc. Not sure why people are so determined to act as if the Internet was not a major factor.

What causes revolutions is obnoxious and sociopathic leaders who's only desire is to have power, control people and steal from them.

Guess what? Revolutions took place long before the internet existed. It is unemployment, corruption, police brutality and rising food prices that drive revolutions, not facebook and Twitter.

Internet was just a tool for revolution, it helped people to organize, and it makes harder to regimes to control information, please don't say it had nothing to do with it, I agree is not the cause of the revolution, but it was important
